Fake Certificate Website shut down

Fake Certificate Website shut down -->

Websites that sell bogus degree and examination certificates have been an ongoing problem for UK exam boards. However, the recent success of JCQ’s campaign to stamp out the supply of unauthorised certificates, saw the scam website, replacement-certificates.co.uk, shut down.

The website, which was selling fake certificates for £400, now carries the message of an injunction ordered by the High Court of Justice. The exam boards affected by the scam site included: AQA Education; the City And Guilds Of London Institute; Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations; Pearson Education Limited and WJEC CBAC Limited. Mr Turner, the Head of JCQ said ‘it sends a strong message…Fraudulent activity will not be tolerated!’ But with certificate fraud on the rise, it’s vital that printed certificates are highly secure and accurately authenticated.
